The Bevel Up and Bevel Down Hand Plane Debate

This is probably the most common question I get from readers and viewers of both The Renaissance Woodworker and The Hand Tool School.  I feel like I have been sitting on the fence for some time so I decided to present both viewpoints, the pros and cons, and then take a side.  Unfortunately, I think the side of the fence I stand on will vary from task to task.
