Counting My Blessings
Another Thanksgiving has come and gone and we have had time to count our blessings and remember all the things we need to be thankful for. Now that the important stuff is recognized like my wife, family, job, and of course my dog, my thoughts turn to the little things that make life grand.
I’m thankful for:
- Mahogany and it’s sweet sweet shavings
- Sharp Saws
- The feel of a freshly sharpened block plane on end grain
- Mahogany End Grain
- The quiet snick of a hand plane
- My workbench
- Genuine Mahogany
- Milling a board flat and square on 6 faces by hand
- Quiet hand tools that allow me to work late at night when I can’t sleep
- Working at a job that gives me access to Mahogany
- My hand tool school students
- Readers of my blog and podcast
- Did I mention Mahogany?
Most of all I’m thankful that every day in the workshop brings a new challenge and tiny revelations when I tackle those challenges. That every minute I spend in the shop adds minutes to my life
Oh and Mahogany
