I made a purchase for my shop a few weeks ago that is turning out to be the best thing I ever did to improve my woodworking: a window AC unit. It’s nothing special and probably not very efficient but my shop is quite small and didn’t need a lot of BTUs of power. Working by hand will work up a sweat no matter what you do, but at least I’m not sweating the moment I step into the shop now. This little creature comfort may result in my most productive summer ever in my shop. Funny how that works eh? I’m not sure why I have held off so long and now I’m starting to wonder what other, small improvements can yield a big difference.

My feet may still hurt after a day working on the rock hard floors but I’m one more step towards the ultimate clubhouse that is my favorite room in the house.
