RWW 197 Picnic Style Dining Table Part 5
Its been a year and I returned to Maine to complete the dining table. There wasn’t much left to do construction wise so I had plenty of time to get the finish just right.
First I drawbored the breadboard ends in place, removed a little twist in the trestle base, then prepped for finish. Finally I applied 4 coats of General Finishes EnduroVar to complete the build. I was really happy that I was able to convince my client to skip the distressing part of this build and to let the natural grain pattern and “lesser” grade lumber provide the character.
When all was said and done and delivered I was sad to see this table go. So was my wife, I guess I’ll be building another one some day for us.
