Fix Your Mistakes by Digging Through the Trashcan
We have all been there. That moment when you realize you made a mistake and it is going to take a lot of effort to fix it and probably is going to force you to remake an entire part. It makes you want to hang it up for the day and go binge watch DareDevil on Netflix (not that I need a lot of reasons to do that).
I urge you to fight the “remake the piece” syndrome. Usually the answer is right in front of you and just impossible to see through the frustration haze. Usually the solution is in the trashcan or on the floor of the shop. See it pays to hang on to every little scrap, or at least waiting to empty the trashcan until the project is complete.
This is why you will find little pile of tenon cheeks hanging out on the corner of my workbench during any given project.
