Chips ‘n Tips 4: Ripping Marks

Win woodworking prizesFor some reason I enjoy hand sawing, especially ripping. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t tiring. When you get tired your technique suffers and a good cut can go back very quickly leading to a lot more work later one with a hand plane. I have come up with a simple tip to pace myself but also add a little more accuracy over a long rip when my technique can break down due to fatigue. I hope you enjoy this tip.

Excellent tips, Shannon.

Maybe consider a nice turned Shaker candlestick base on your new toy to use as a phone stand, though. 🙂

Although, it was kind of cool to imagine, as you sawed, that you were shaking your whole workshop with the voracity of your cutting power.

(What? Like nobody else did that…)
