Interview with Jay van Arsdale

Jay van Arsdale DaikuIn my continuing interview series with the speakers at Woodworking in America, we take a very different turn and talk about Japanese woodworking styles with Jay van Arsdale. This was a great conversation that really got me thinking about methods of learning and how that applies to our woodworking pursuits. Jay is a wealth of knowledge, fun to talk to, and an all around nice guy. I hope you enjoy this interview and can make it to Woodworking in America to meet and learn from Jay in person. I know I will be in the front row!

Nice interview.

Could use a little audio editing – Jay’s voice is very quiet and could use a boost in volume. Found myself turning up the volume to hear him, then my ears being blasted

Tell me about it Dan. I recorded this interview almost 60 days ago and have been working on it on and off since then trying to boost Jay’s voice while not blowing the speakers when I speak. This is the result of my limited audio mixing capabilities. Sorry about the unevenness that still exists.

I really enjoyed that interview. That was really interesting.
