Let the Saw Do the Work
A sharp hand saw just glides through even the hardest of woods. I bought another restored saw from Mark Harrell at Bad Axe Toolworks. This time it is a Disston D8, 26″, 6 ppi, rip saw. My 28″ saw while very effective is just a bit long for sawing on my sawbench so I jumped at the chance to get another one of Mark’s masterpieces.
Here is the inaugural run of the saw in some 4/4 White Oak I’m sawing up as part of a Hand Tool School project. Isn’t woodworking fun, and good for you too. While the saw is sharp, I definitely got my heart rate up during this 37″ cut.
