RWW 159 The Mobile Workbench

I built a tool box as a Hand Tool School project this year. Quite a few members had requested it and I decided to take it one step beyond something just to carry tools and add in a sturdy bench top and some work holding. What I ended up with is a sort of mobile workbench. I have now tested it in “the field” (literally in one case) and I could not be happier with how well it performs. I can easily size stock and cut joinery using this tool box/workbench as well as carry an impressive amount to tools to address a wide variety of tasks. After posting some pictures of this tool box on my Facebook and Google+ pages, I got quite a few requests for more information. Hence the following video. Enjoy!

That rocks. Semester 4, you say?

Definitely a cool design.

Very nice! Well thought out and nicely executed. The double screw on the front is a great idea, I didn’t realize what the knobs were for until you started using them. I think I’ll be making my own in the near future.

John

Nice work. Are the plans available by any chance?
