Sawing and Planing Exercises
Improve Your Sawing and Planing with Simple Exercises
Improving your dovetails or tenons or milling does require practice. And just building some projects is a great way to improve your general woodworking. But in the course of a typical project we don't actually do that much focuses sawing or planing. Often a few tenons cuts and we move on to another skill. Meanwhile the experience you gain from that little bit of sawing starts to decay. So taking some time to spend 10-15 minutes focused entirely on planing or sawing can reap enormous rewards.
In this session I walk through a few sawing and planing exercises that can be great for improving your skills or even just warming things up before you dive into an intense section of a project.
